Global Business Services
Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to the Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations. In India, this work is carried out by BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation.
Job Description
The Global Technology division manages the critical systems and platforms behind the company's retail, commercial and institutional businesses, along with key global support functions. Teams build technologies for mobile and online banking, payments processing, technology infrastructure, cyber-security, risk and capital management, and enterprise data management.
As part of the team, you will use leading technology solutions and integrated platforms so that customers and clients can bank with us anytime, anywhere.
Skills Exposure
You may work with areas such as Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Sqoop, Impala, Hue, Python, SQL, Scala, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Shell Scripting, ETL, Quartz, Teradata, Datastage and Tableau.
Responsibilities
You will make sure software meets functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, with solutions designed for maintainability, ease of integration and testing from the start. Key tasks may include:
- Gathering and translating internal and external client requirements into technical design specifications and business process re-engineering
- Coding solutions and unit tests, and ensuring they integrate successfully into internal banking applications with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces
- Taking part in CI/CD delivery and release events, including branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge and conflict resolution, and release notes
You will also document models and findings, support data collation and processing, build proofs of concept to test new ideas or reduce risk, and ensure delivery meets expectations for functionality, quality, performance, reliability and timelines.
You will work with global development teams and business partners across APAC, EMEA and AMRS, translating business and functional requirements for banking, trading and markets. You will also identify, escalate and resolve incidents and issues.
Foundational Skills
Expect hands-on work across the full software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, coding, testing and deployment. A strong grasp of industry development and testing practices and of design patterns for complex applications is expected.
- Fundamental knowledge of programming languages, data visualization tools, application frameworks, distributed systems and databases
- Basic proficiency in at least one of Java, C#/.NET, C++ or Python
- Experience with Agile methodology, process improvement, Excel and JIRA, with knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities
- Strong influencing skills, both vertically and horizontally
- Assertiveness, initiative, a strong work ethic and a team attitude
- Clear written and oral communication
- High intellectual curiosity, a drive for excellence, and a commitment to sustainable results, with strong academic, technical and Microsoft Office skills
Desired Skills
- Experience developing frameworks and tools for AI/ML applications is a plus
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud development is a plus
- Strong problem solving and quantitative skills
- Ability to implement solutions from requirements or your own ideas
- Willingness to work in global distributed teams
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
