Role Description
As an Analyst in the Data Science team, you will develop, deploy, and validate predictive models, enabling profitable decisions across risk, fraud, and marketing. Your work will directly influence decision-making and deliver business insights that drive growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Understand American Express’s core business and decision-making levers.
- Analyze large datasets to derive actionable business insights.
- Leverage Amex’s closed-loop network for intelligent and relevant decisions.
- Innovate with big data and machine learning to develop advanced solutions.
- Clearly articulate business findings and present insights to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry developments in Finance, Payments, and Analytics.
Minimum Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 0–30 months of experience in analytics or big data projects.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in tools and languages like SAS, R, Python, Hive, Spark, and SQL.
- Familiarity with unsupervised and supervised techniques such as decision trees, neural models, reinforcement learning, and Bayesian models.
- Ability to manage complex, unstructured initiatives and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in coding, algorithm development, and high-performance computing.
- Experience with advanced machine learning techniques, attribute engineering, and MapReduce.
