Role Summary
Alcon is recruiting entry level Software Engineering Apprentices for a 1 year full time internship program. The role focuses on building full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and relational databases while working within an Agile development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Create user interface components using React.
- Work with relational databases and write SQL queries.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum activities including daily stand ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Product, QA, and UX.
Required Skills
- Understanding of Java and Spring Boot development.
- Hands on exposure to React.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with Git and general software development practices.
- Willingness to learn and work in a collaborative team environment.
