Apprenticeship in Physical Design & Integration (PDI)
An apprenticeship opportunity in Physical Design and Integration (PDI) is available at Airbus India in Bangalore. The role is part of the PDI department responsible for system installation and cabin design activities across aircraft programs.
This program is expected to run for approximately 12 months starting in July 2026 (date may be flexible). Apprentices will work within a global engineering environment that focuses on digital innovation, research, and collaboration across multiple Airbus teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage activities related to system installation work packages, including cabin design, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
- Support work package or group leaders when required across different engineering tasks.
- Coordinate and collaborate with teams across airframe, systems, and cabin domains.
- Liaise with departments such as industrialization, standardization, research, and environment integration.
A dedicated tutor will guide the apprentice in identifying professional goals and building technical capabilities during the program.
Skills and Knowledge Developed
- Mechanical System Installation (MSI)
- Electrical System Installation (ESI)
- Cabin design and DMU integration
- Configuration management practices
- Architecture studies and engineering automation
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of aircraft industrialization principles and the aircraft build process
- Knowledge of system installation across electrical and mechanical systems
- Awareness of production management concepts and manufacturing processes
- Exposure to modeling tools and engineering design environments
- Familiarity with Catia V5 and DMU concepts is advantageous
- Basic scripting knowledge in VB or Python is beneficial
- Data analytics knowledge is considered a plus
