Who can take part
Season 14 is open to students pursuing graduation or post-graduation in any stream of science or engineering, at any recognised institute worldwide, who finish their course in 2027, 2028, 2029 or 2030. You must be at least 18 when you register. Students graduating in 2026 cannot enter Season 14: the window moves forward one year every season.
How CodeVita works
- Round 1: solve at least one problem to move on.
- Round 2: a new, harder set of problems. TCS says Rounds 2 and 3 in Season 14 may involve technologies beyond traditional programming, with details after Round 1.
- Final: historically the top 25, and 30 in Season 13, solve problems at a TCS campus in India.
- MockVitas before the real rounds let you get used to the platform.
It is an open-book contest, but any code you use from the web must be declared with its exact URL; code without a precise source may be treated as plagiarism. The timer keeps running on questions you haven't submitted, and sessions expire after 15 minutes of inactivity.
What changed in Season 14
- Rounds are 3 hours instead of 6.
- Only four languages: C, C++, Java and Python (eight earlier).
- “Solve more questions, advance further”: only the top coders in each round move on.
- Rounds 2 and 3 may go beyond traditional programming.
Prizes and what CodeVita leads to
The top three share USD 20,000; in Seasons 11 and 12 the split was USD 10,000, 7,000 and 3,000. The top three also get the chance to intern with TCS Research & Innovation. TCS says hundreds of participants have joined TCS over the years, but it publishes no guaranteed job or salary for a CodeVita rank. If you are aiming for a TCS job, the TCS NQT is the main hiring route.
