What Success Looks Like in This Role
This role helps build foundational knowledge and practical skills within a specific technical discipline. Work assignments are completed under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or senior team member. The position may operate on an alternating or temporary schedule, where students work during certain periods and attend school or vocational training during others.
Responsibilities can fall into several technical areas such as technical support, software development, data analysis and reporting, networking or infrastructure support, and DevSecOps or cloud support.
Technical Support
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Help resolve network connectivity problems and support system configuration tasks.
- Support IT teams with the management and setup of company devices.
Software Development
- Write basic code or scripts for internal tools and small projects.
- Support software testing and help identify bugs.
- Participate in code reviews and learn version control and secure coding practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data.
- Create reports, dashboards, or simple visualizations using tools such as Excel or PowerPoint.
Networking and Infrastructure Support
- Support installation and configuration of network hardware.
- Help monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware, security, or connectivity concerns.
DevSecOps
- Help automate routine tasks using scripts or programming tools.
- Assist with managing cloud infrastructure environments.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and assist with application deployments.
Additional Contributions
- Provide support with project coordination and progress tracking.
- Assist with research and compile information for reports or presentations.
- Organize and maintain documentation that supports team or project activities.
