Student Technical
What success looks like in this role
This role helps students develop knowledge and practical skills within a specific technical discipline. Work assignments are performed under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or senior associate. The position may follow an alternating schedule where students work during certain periods and return to school or vocational training during others.
The role supports learning across areas such as technical support, software development, data analysis and reporting, networking and infrastructure support, and DevSecOps or cloud operations.
Technical Support
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware or software issues.
- Support resolution of network connectivity problems and help with system configuration tasks.
- Help IT teams manage company devices.
Software Development
- Write basic code or scripts for internal tools and development projects.
- Support software testing activities to identify bugs or defects.
- Participate in code reviews while learning version control and secure coding practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data.
- Create reports, dashboards, or visual presentations using tools such as Excel or PowerPoint.
Networking and Infrastructure Support
- Help install and configure network hardware.
- Monitor network performance and assist in identifying potential issues.
- Support troubleshooting of hardware, security, and infrastructure concerns.
DevSecOps
- Assist with automating routine tasks using scripts or programming tools.
- Support cloud infrastructure management activities.
- Help maintain CI/CD pipelines and assist with application deployments.
Additional Activities
- Support project coordination and track progress on assigned tasks.
- Assist with research and compile information for reports or presentations.
- Organize documentation and information that supports team or project work.
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Typically less than one year of experience in the relevant area.
