What success looks like in this role
This position helps students build practical knowledge and technical skills within a specific discipline. Work assignments are carried out under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or senior team member. The role may be temporary or follow an alternating schedule where the student works during certain periods and attends school or training during others.
The role focuses on developing skills across technical domains such as technical support, software development, data analysis and reporting, networking or infrastructure support, and DevSecOps or cloud operations.
Technical Support
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Help resolve network connectivity problems and support system configuration tasks.
- Support IT teams in managing company devices.
Software Development
- Write basic code or scripts for internal tools and projects.
- Assist in testing software to identify bugs and issues.
- Participate in code reviews and learn version control and secure coding practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Support data collection, cleaning, and analysis activities.
- Create reports, dashboards, or visual presentations using tools such as Excel or PowerPoint.
Networking and Infrastructure Support
- Assist with installing and configuring network hardware.
- Help monitor network performance and identify potential problems.
- Support troubleshooting related to hardware, security, or infrastructure concerns.
DevSecOps
- Help automate routine tasks using scripts or programming tools.
- Assist with management of cloud infrastructure.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and help with application deployment processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with project coordination and tracking progress.
- Conduct research and gather information for reports or presentations.
- Organize and compile information to support team or project activities.
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Typically less than one year of experience in the relevant area.
