What Success Looks Like in This Role
This position helps students build practical knowledge and skills within a chosen technical discipline. Work assignments are carried out under the guidance of a supervisor, manager, or senior associate. The role may operate on an alternating or temporary schedule, where students attend school or vocational training during non-working periods.
Participants develop experience across technical areas such as technical support, software development, data analysis and reporting, networking and infrastructure support, and DevSecOps or cloud support.
Technical Support
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware or software related issues.
- Help resolve network connectivity problems and support system configuration tasks.
- Support IT teams in managing company devices.
Software Development
- Write basic code or scripts for internal tools and projects.
- Support testing activities to identify and report software bugs.
- Participate in code reviews while learning version control and secure coding practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Assist with data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
- Create reports, dashboards, or visualizations using tools such as Excel or PowerPoint.
Networking and Infrastructure Support
- Assist with installing and configuring network hardware.
- Help monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
- Support troubleshooting of hardware, security, and infrastructure concerns.
DevSecOps
- Help automate routine operational tasks using scripts or programming tools.
- Assist with management of cloud infrastructure.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and help with application deployments.
Additional Activities
- Assist with project coordination and progress tracking.
- Support research efforts and compile information for reports or presentations.
- Organize and maintain documentation related to team or project activities.
