Overview
What You'll Do
Develop software consistent with Cisco's Design Thinking Principles, focusing on simplification and user experience, using secure coding practices and following software development best practices.
Partner with other teams, including design and product management, to create the right solution for customers.
Create technical design documentation for the team and contribute to user documentation for end users.
Debug and address software issues during development and in production systems to support customers. Bring new ideas for product innovation and help improve software development processes.
Communicate status and issues to the team, share experience and knowledge to support the team, and perform routine assignments that require basic knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
Collaborate effectively with your team, contribute to small projects, and work with others on small features primarily focused on coding and testing.
Develop an understanding of the software development lifecycle and various agile engineering practices (e.g., requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing), and assist on projects where these methods are applied.
Analyze user requirements and work with others to understand impact on technical design features.
Write correct code with assistance, support test code refining and rewriting as part of testing and debugging, and assist with tests for scaling for reliability and velocity.
Apply secure coding principles and follow secure coding guidelines. Support more senior team members in troubleshooting and debugging issues.
Be proficient in at least one large area of the codebase (multiple services in a pillar) with a high-level understanding of other components.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 0 years of previous experience.
- Basic knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts within a technical discipline; exposure to current technologies through coursework or internship.
- Deep interest in building technical expertise in front-end technologies and intuitive user experiences for customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Varies based on the team and business needs. Preferred qualifications are desired education, experience, and skills that are in addition to minimum qualifications.
- Worked with front-end technologies like React and JavaScript.
- Used Figma to review mockups and build exactly as the Figma mockup.
