Role Overview
NatWest Group is hiring a Software Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative, secure and high performing solutions. You will work within a feature team and collaborate with engineers, architects and business analysts to deliver technology that supports customer focused platforms.
The role provides the chance to strengthen existing technical abilities while building relationships with stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high quality and complex software solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Work within permanent teams responsible for the full lifecycle of applications, from development and enhancements to maintenance and eventual replacement.
- Collaborate with team members to strengthen and optimize overall software engineering capability.
- Design, build, test and implement reliable production-ready code.
- Contribute across the entire development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and operational support.
Required Skills and Background
A solid foundation in software engineering, software design and architecture is expected, along with an understanding of how engineering solutions support end users and customers.
- Experience using development tools, testing frameworks, bug tracking platforms and documentation wikis.
- Exposure to multiple programming languages or low code development platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, testing approaches and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to solve complex analytical and numerical problems.
- Understanding of programming best practices related to scalability, automation, virtualization, optimization, availability and system performance.
