What you'll do
As a Software Engineer, you will design, build and maintain reliable applications and services that support business operations and customer needs.
- Develop complex, high quality software that delivers measurable business value
- Work within permanent teams responsible for the full software lifecycle, including development, enhancement, maintenance and eventual replacement
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to strengthen software engineering capabilities
- Design, build, test and implement working software solutions
- Contribute across the lifecycle from requirements analysis and design through coding, testing, deployment and operations
The skills you'll need
You should have a background in software engineering, design and architecture, along with an understanding of how your work supports customer outcomes.
- Experience using development tools, testing frameworks, bug tracking systems and knowledge sharing platforms such as wikis
- Hands on experience with Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, JMS, EMS, microservice concepts, along with basic Python and AI or ML concepts
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile methodologies and related toolsets
- Ability to work through complex analytical and numerical challenges
- Understanding of programming best practices related to scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
