About the Role
Grade Level: 07
The position is for a Research Analyst within the Business Involvement Screens team at S&P Global Sustainable 1. The team works with ESG data used by investors, corporates, and other stakeholders. The focus is on gathering and maintaining corporate sustainability data from a wide range of company, regulatory, and public sources.
S&P Global manages one of the most comprehensive datasets on corporate sustainability. The team collaborates with multiple stakeholders to collect and maintain high quality ESG information used across various products and divisions.
Team Overview
The ESG data team collects and analyzes sustainability information that helps investors evaluate long term risks and corporate performance. The dataset supports investors, asset managers, and S&P Global solutions by providing a detailed view of companies' exposure to ESG factors.
Responsibilities and Impact
- Collect, standardize, and validate data from company documents and other public sources.
- Deliver assigned individual and team targets while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with ESG analysts to understand challenges and propose improvements.
- Stay updated on content sets, industry developments, and reporting standards.
- Contribute ideas for improved data collection methods and product enhancements.
- Troubleshoot data or workflow issues and support team members when needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete datasets that support internal and external business requirements.
- Use research sources such as regulatory filings, stock exchange data, CSR reports, industry journals, analyst reports, and internal tools to gather and synthesize information.
- Participate in data gathering, processing, and analysis related to Business Involvement Screening and ESG datasets.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to build and maintain content.
- Train new team members joining the ESG data collection program.
- Perform UAT or BRT testing for workflow tools and data pipelines supporting products.
- Participate in calls with management and clients when required.
The role provides exposure to industry reports, sustainability frameworks, and global ESG trends while interacting with analysts across international teams.
Basic Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Exposure to ESG, sustainability, or related industry domains is beneficial.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence concepts including Large Language Models for research and document interpretation.
- Ability to use AI or LLM tools for tasks such as summarization, data extraction, and content validation.
- Capability to interpret corporate documents including annual reports, sustainability reports, prospectuses, articles, and codes of conduct.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts and manage multiple tasks within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong research and analytical abilities with close attention to detail.
- High proficiency in English with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Interest in sustainability topics and emerging ESG developments.
