This position is part of S&P Global’s Private Markets Cluster, which focuses on publishing information related to private markets. The analyst works as an in-house specialist responsible for capturing equity and debt funding rounds across alternative asset classes. The role involves collaborating with global teams and gaining exposure to industry dynamics related to funding round attributes.
The Team
The Private Market Rounds of Funding team is a global and diverse group dedicated to maintaining high data quality for S&P Global clients. The team promotes the “3Es” approach: education about the funding ecosystem, encouragement of creativity and idea sharing, and empowerment for long-term career development. The environment is fast paced and values collaboration and employee contributions.
Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Verification: Assist with daily collection and validation of data related to equity and debt funding rounds across alternative asset classes. Sources may include regulatory filings, company websites, news reports, and other primary or secondary research.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct detailed research from multiple sources to gather relevant information and support improvements in overall data accuracy and quality.
- Daily Performance Reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed tasks using designated reporting tools to ensure transparency in daily work.
- Collaborative Communication: Respond promptly to communications from team members, supervisors, and managers to support a collaborative work environment.
- Adoption of Technology: Demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies that improve data management and reporting efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective collaboration.
- Any graduate, preferably in communications, finance, or a related discipline.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including night shifts when required.
