About the Role

Red Hat is seeking passionate and driven Software Engineer Interns to join our teams in Bangalore and Pune, India. As an intern, you will be an integral member of the team, contributing to real projects and collaborating with experienced engineers and mentors. This is a 6-month internship program scheduled from January to July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your mentor to design, develop, and maintain software using Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Add new features, debug issues, and track product performance in Red Hat offerings such as RHEL and OpenShift.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality Engineering, Design, Product Management, and Documentation.
• Engage with other interns and team members in an inclusive, collaborative environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic understanding of software engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Python, Golang, or similar programming languages.
• Strong curiosity and problem-solving mindset.
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Currently enrolled full-time in a tertiary institution and able to commit to the internship duration.

Learning Opportunities

Interns will gain exposure to technologies like Ansible, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, AI, and more. You will also work with tools and methodologies such as GitHub, Java, Agile, and JavaScript.
