Python Developer - Fresher (Apprenticeship) at CGI
CGI is seeking enthusiastic fresher candidates to join as Apprentice Python Developers in Bangalore, Karnataka. This is a full-time apprenticeship opportunity designed for recent graduates in Computer Science, IT, or ECE who are eager to start their career in software development and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining automation scripts using Python and PowerShell for routine operational tasks.
- Support basic automation workflows such as scheduling, file handling, and system monitoring under guidance.
- Troubleshoot automation issues by analyzing logs, identifying failures, and supporting root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to implement enhancements, prepare documentation, and follow standard coding and security practices.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of Python programming fundamentals, data structures, functions, OOP concepts, file handling, and exception handling.
- Familiarity with automation concepts, job scheduling, file operations, and basic system administration.
- Knowledge of databases and SQL for simple data queries.
- Exposure to REST APIs, JSON, and interaction of Python scripts with external services.
- Basic debugging skills for identifying and fixing script issues.
- Good to have: Experience with Azure, Git, Ansible, Python package management, and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 60% throughout academics.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) in CS, IT, or ECE.
