Pearson India’s Apprenticeship Program is designed for graduates and early-career professionals to gain structured training, practical exposure, and mentorship from experienced professionals. The program combines hands-on work with guided development to help apprentices build professional and technical capabilities within a global environment.
The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team focuses on ensuring that platforms remain highly available, scalable, secure, and observable. The team collaborates closely with development, security, and product groups to design resilient systems, automate operational tasks, and improve system reliability through monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement.
As an apprentice, you will work within this team and receive guidance from experienced SRE and DevOps engineers.
In this role, you will learn how modern production systems are designed and operated at scale. The position suits individuals interested in cloud infrastructure, automation, system reliability, and troubleshooting in large distributed environments.
Initially, you will work on guided tasks and gradually take responsibility for small improvements and system components as your skills develop.
Basic familiarity with Linux or Unix systems, networking fundamentals such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP, and general cloud computing concepts is beneficial.
Exposure to scripting languages like Python or Bash, version control using Git, container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK can be advantageous.
This is a full-time apprenticeship running Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. Some flexibility may be required to collaborate with global teams across different time zones.
After successfully completing the 12-month apprenticeship, and depending on performance, business requirements, and role availability, participants may be considered for full-time positions such as SRE or DevOps Engineer.
