NatWest Group Hiring Infrastructure Engineer SQL DBA, Chennai

Join us as an Infrastructure Engineer and help engineer infrastructure technologies for both public and private cloud environments. The role focuses on meeting security, resilience, sustainability, and operational requirements while embedding observability and guardrails into the platform.

You will use automation to enable testing and support a smooth route to production for infrastructure products. The role also involves working with internal users and customers to help them integrate and use these products through their CI or CD pipelines.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the bank, share engineering practices, and gain visibility for your work. The role is offered at the associate level.

What you'll do

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will support the selection, creation, and maintenance of technologies that address customer needs and align with strategic architecture goals. You will also help develop products using modern engineering tools and practices.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to shape product roadmaps and document the lifecycle of technologies, from introduction to retirement. The role also includes supporting engineered products, addressing user feedback, evaluating feature requests, and resolving production issues in coordination with the Product Owner.

Additionally, you will:

• Continue building technical capability through ongoing learning and development
• Work with your team to design intuitive and self-service infrastructure products
• Contribute to infrastructure as code implementations
• Engage with users to support product adoption and gather feedback
• Provide operational assistance for product or pattern related issues
• Propose and help deliver new ideas that translate into product features

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you should have experience in software development or automation scripting, such as Python or Shell, along with an understanding of the software development lifecycle. Experience with modern infrastructure as code tooling is also expected.

You should be comfortable working within Agile environments and using common Agile toolsets, while aligning day to day work with the broader vision of the feature team, platform, and domain.

In addition, you should have:

• Working knowledge of building CI or CD pipelines using modern tools
• Experience with observability tools and practices, using operational data and user feedback to improve solutions
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, and Azure
• Experience working with technologies deployed in on premise data centers
• Understanding of DevOps practices including collaboration, automation, and tooling
