Release Engineering - Associate, Software Production Management & Reliability Engineering

Join the WM Technology team in Core Platform Services as a Release Engineering Associate. The role is responsible for managing releases end to end and performing change management for updates entering production while ensuring policy compliance and proper risk evaluation. The position requires strong awareness of release environments and the ability to collaborate with distributed global teams.

The role also requires familiarity with branching strategies, CI/CD pipeline management, code build and version control processes, and deployment practices within a dynamic production environment.

Within Software Production Management & Reliability Engineering, this associate position oversees production environments, maintains operational reliability of deployed applications, and helps implement strategies that improve performance while reducing downtime.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with a global 24/7 team of Release and Change Engineers and partner with Application Development and Technology Delivery teams.
• Manage releases and changes throughout their lifecycle, including production fixes, business as usual updates, mandatory initiatives, and major technology change events.
• Maintain monitoring, governance processes, and reporting to support delivery and release activities.
• Perform deployment analysis and schedule deployment tasks while creating consolidated implementation plans for approved changes.
• Assess risks related to change events and establish mitigation plans for successful delivery.
• Provide oversight for change execution activities and ensure planned changes remain on track.
• Coordinate communication for change events and deliver status updates and metrics before, during, and after release windows.
• Manage issues and risks during release windows and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders when required.
• Schedule and manage RFB checkouts aligned with change risk assessments and transition environments to ASG after change completion.
• Conduct post-release reviews and retrospectives, close action items, and share findings through structured reporting.

What You Bring

• Ability to build alignment and drive solutions through negotiation and collaboration.
• Experience preparing executive summaries or presentations for senior leadership.
• Experience interacting with different levels of the organization, including risk and audit teams.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple programs, and adapt priorities when required.
• Understanding of IT risk management in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience facilitating meetings, coordinating actions, and driving outcomes.
• Ability to create program roadmaps, manage delivery workstreams, and guide team resources.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices such as Availability Management, Service Continuity, Change Management, SDLC, Incident Management, Problem Management, and CMDB.
• Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate effectively across geographically distributed teams.
