Job Description

Purpose of the Role

This position supports the smooth and efficient functioning of trading desks by providing operational and technical assistance to traders, sales professionals, and other stakeholders. The role helps improve productivity, reduce disruptions, and supports administrative tasks, market information gathering, and research activities.

Accountabilities

  • Provide prompt technical assistance to traders and sales teams on trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network related issues to maintain uninterrupted trading.
  • Coordinate trade execution by working with traders, clients, and internal teams to ensure transactions are processed smoothly.
  • Maintain and update trade records, transaction logs, and client databases with high accuracy.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support sales and trading operations.
  • Monitor market data and assist in analysing financial information to support trading decisions.
  • Perform operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving discrepancies.

  • Communicate complex or sensitive information effectively and collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the team.

Within the Macro team, this role focuses on trade capture and related operational functions in a fast moving environment. The team ensures a high level of accuracy in trade capture, which is essential for risk management and maintaining accurate records.

The analyst will support quote capture activities related to Rates products including cash instruments such as bonds and derivative products like swaps and options. Responsibilities also include governance, analytics, reporting, and issue management connected to quote capture processes. Barclays operates global risk management hubs to provide clients with strong risk management and execution capabilities.

Success in this role requires strong understanding of risk, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgement in decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate quote capture activities in Barclays systems to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Engage closely with Rates Sales and Trading teams during quote capture processes.
  • Handle queries and resolve issues related to captured quotes.
  • Reconcile recorded quotes and ensure proper storage accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports, analytics outputs, and management information related to quote capture.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in quote capture and support the business in meeting regulatory obligations.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of the front to back lifecycle of a trade and associated risks.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, particularly Rates or Macro products.
  • Experience working in high volume and time sensitive trade capture environments.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and communicate them clearly to management and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical ability with understanding of Rates cash and derivative products.
  • Capability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast paced environment.
