Overview
Role Summary
The primary focus of this role is to develop smart, scalable, and reliable automation scripts to test web, API, and mobile applications for a SaaS platform. The work helps identify defects early through automated validation.
This position allows engineers to strengthen their software engineering capabilities, work with modern automation tools, and contribute to delivering high‑quality software. The role also acts as a stepping stone toward a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) career path.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable automation code for web, mobile, and API test cases.
- Integrate automated testing suites with the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous testing.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks as the product evolves.
- Review manual test cases and identify high‑priority scenarios suitable for automation.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and QA team members during testing cycles.
- Run automated test suites and evaluate results to detect regressions or defects.
- Log, track, and verify issues using Jira.
Required Skills
- Strong foundation in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript.
- Understanding of QA methodologies and testing types including unit, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM structure, and REST APIs.
- Ability to write SQL queries to validate data accuracy.
Good to Have
- Experience with automation tools like Playwright or Selenium.
- Exposure to version control systems, particularly Git.
- Basic familiarity with CI/CD concepts and continuous testing.
- Interest in automation testing and quality engineering practices.
