Overview
NatWest Group is hiring a Software Engineer to work on building and maintaining secure, high performance, customer focused technology solutions. The role is offered at the associate level and provides the opportunity to strengthen technical skills while collaborating with a wide network of stakeholders.
As part of a feature team, you will engineer software, scripts, and tools while working closely with engineers, architects, and business analysts across the platform.
What you will do
- Develop complex and business critical software quickly while maintaining high quality standards
- Work within permanent teams responsible for the full product life cycle, from initial development to enhancement, maintenance, and eventual replacement or decommissioning
- Collaborate with team members to improve overall software engineering capability
- Design, build, test, and implement software solutions
- Contribute across the entire development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support
Skills required
Applicants should have a foundation in software engineering, system design, and architecture, along with an understanding of how their work supports customer needs.
- Experience using development and testing tools, bug tracking systems, and documentation wikis
- Exposure to multiple programming languages or low code development tools
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and associated toolsets
- Ability to solve complex analytical and numerical problems
- Knowledge of programming best practices including scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability, and performance
