About the Team

The IBM Chief Information Officer (CIO) organization sets enterprise technology strategy and leads digital transformation. The CIO Technology Platform Transformation (TPT) team builds AI-first platforms and intelligent engineering solutions that modernize enterprise IT, improve developer productivity, strengthen operational excellence, and speed up business innovation through Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Cloud, and Data.

You will contribute to projects involving Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Machine Learning, backend and web development, databases, cloud-native technologies, and software engineering, gaining hands-on experience building enterprise technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and build AI-enabled applications and services.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-organized, efficient, and well-tested code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Develop and integrate Generative AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Build AI Agents and Agentic AI workflows using modern AI frameworks.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Develop REST APIs, backend services, web applications, and AI integrations.
• Work with databases, SQL, and NoSQL technologies as projects require.
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and take part in code reviews to ensure software quality and coding standards.
• Take part in CI/CD activities and work with version control systems such as Git.
• Build automation solutions to improve engineering productivity and streamline existing processes.
• Work with cloud-native technologies, containers, and DevOps practices.
• Communicate progress, issues, and suggestions to the tech team and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies across AI and software development.
• Meet project timelines, deadlines, and applicable project requirements.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and collaborate effectively in an Agile environment.
• Continuously learn and apply emerging AI and software engineering technologies.
