Junior SRE Engineer
This position follows a hybrid work model with an expectation to work from the HPE office approximately two days per week.

Role Overview
The team is looking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer with 0 to 2 years of experience. This role suits engineers interested in cloud‑native technologies, observability, and system reliability. You will collaborate with senior engineers and development teams to help maintain reliability, monitoring, and performance of distributed cloud applications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with monitoring and reliability operations for HPE Networking SASE products.
- Help create and maintain dashboards and alerts using monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Track application health and respond to system alerts.
- Investigate production issues and support root cause analysis.
- Take part in incident response activities following established processes.
- Analyze monitoring data to identify patterns or potential system issues.
- Support maintenance of Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications to maintain availability of cloud services.
- Work with development teams to understand application behavior in production environments.
- Participate in on‑call rotations when required.
Basic Requirements
- Understanding of monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
- Knowledge of logs, metrics, and dashboards used for system observability.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Basic experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/HTTPS.
- Interest in incident management processes and operational reliability.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to scripting using Python or Shell.
- Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Interest in distributed systems and cloud architecture.
- Curiosity about automation and reliability engineering practices.
Work Environment
The role involves collaboration with senior engineers and participation in operational activities supporting production systems. Candidates should be comfortable working in on‑call or night shift environments when required.
