Role Overview

HPE is looking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer with 0 to 2 years of experience to support reliability and monitoring efforts for cloud based applications. This role suits engineers interested in cloud native platforms, observability, and system reliability.

You will work closely with senior engineers and development teams to maintain the performance and reliability of distributed applications running in cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and reliability initiatives for HPE Networking SASE products
• Help set up and maintain dashboards and alerting systems using monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Track application health and respond to alerts as they arise
• Troubleshoot production incidents and help identify root causes
• Participate in incident management processes and follow defined response procedures
• Analyze monitoring data to detect trends and possible system issues
• Support maintenance of Kubernetes clusters and containerized services to ensure high availability
• Collaborate with development teams to understand how applications behave in production environments
• Take part in on call rotations when required

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 0 to 2 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related positions, including internships
• Understanding of monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog
• Knowledge of logs, metrics, and dashboard based observability
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Basic exposure to containers and Kubernetes
• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS
• Interest in learning incident management practices
• Willingness to work in night shifts or on call environments when required

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to scripting using Python or Shell
• Familiarity with Linux based systems
• Interest in distributed systems and cloud architecture
• Motivation to learn automation and reliability engineering practices

Working Style

The role requires collaboration with senior engineers and active participation in operational reliability activities. Candidates are expected to take ownership of assigned tasks while continuing to learn and develop within the team.
