Job Summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a System Design Intern to support the development of an early-stage prototype for a new product or technology solution. The role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams on system design, requirement definition, prototype development, integration, testing, and documentation.

This internship is suited for candidates interested in systems engineering, innovation, and hands-on prototype development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support system design activities for proof-of-concept and prototype solutions
  • Assist in translating user needs into high-level system requirements
  • Contribute to prototype development, integration, and testing
  • Create and maintain design documentation, interface definitions, block diagrams, and use cases
  • Participate in design discussions, feasibility studies, and technical reviews
  • Help identify technical risks, assumptions, and design trade-offs
  • Prepare structured test reports, experiment logs, and result summaries
  • Document findings, learnings, and recommendations from prototype evaluations

Qualifications & Requirements

  • B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 70% or 7 CGPA aggregate in the current degree
  • No active backlogs at the time of application
  • Willingness to work from GE HealthCare premises during the internship
  • Open to working on projects based on business needs and fitment
  • Familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets, Python, or MATLAB for experiment logging, plotting, and data analysis

Desired Characteristics

  • Interest in system design, prototyping, and product development
  • Academic or project exposure to prototype building, integration, testing, or multidisciplinary engineering
  • Exposure to testing, debugging, and performance evaluation
  • Hands-on programming experience is an added advantage
  • Willingness to learn new software tools and platforms based on project needs
