Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru serves as a multidisciplinary research and engineering hub for GE Aerospace. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, advancing engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a development team focused on Data Science technologies including statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and GenAI.
  • Collaborate closely with an assigned mentor on project work. Activities include analyzing, designing, testing, and integrating components that meet business standards and program or product requirements.
  • Document technical data generated during project work in line with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prepare, present, and communicate technical findings and documentation produced during the project.

Internship Overview

This internship allows students to work on exploratory Data Science projects and contribute to digital solutions addressing identified problems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Students pursuing B.Tech (3rd or 4th year) or M.Tech (1st or 2nd year) from recognized institutes.
  • Applicants should be from the Computer Science or IT stream, with a preference for Data Science or AI specialization.
  • Minimum academic performance of 7 CGPA or 70 percent with no active backlogs.
  • A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college must be submitted before the offer is issued.

Desired Characteristics

  • Interest in technology and awareness of current industry standards and modern development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Python programming and machine learning concepts.
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate technical information.
  • Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and contribute.
  • Analytical thinking and curiosity to challenge existing processes and explore solutions.
