Site Overview

The John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru, established in 2000, serves as GE Aerospace’s multidisciplinary research and engineering hub. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to numerous aviation patents and advancements in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a development team focused on Data Science and AI technologies, including statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI.
  • Collaborate closely with an assigned mentor on project tasks. Activities may include analyzing requirements, designing and testing solutions, and integrating components aligned with business and product standards.
  • Document the technical data produced during the project in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings generated during the assigned work.

Internship Overview

This internship enables students to explore practical problems in Data Science and contribute to digital solutions for identified challenges through exploratory projects.

Qualifications

  • Students currently pursuing B.Tech (3rd or 4th year) or M.Tech (1st or 2nd year) from recognized institutes.
  • Preferred background in Computer Science or Information Technology with specialization in Data Science or Artificial Intelligence.
  • Minimum academic performance of 7 CGPA or 70% with no active backlogs.
  • A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college is required before the offer is issued.

Desired Characteristics

  • Interest in emerging technologies and awareness of modern software development tools and industry practices.
  • Strong programming ability in Python along with knowledge of machine learning.
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate technical findings.
  • Analytical thinking and curiosity to explore and improve existing processes.
