What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Place orders for raw materials and purchased parts based on production requirements, and receive and handle order confirmations.
• Check purchase orders and modify them for production plan changes using the Shortage List and Open Purchase Order List.
• Track shipments and follow up when needed.
• Run regular weekly stock checks to avoid overstock, and reduce obsolescence risk using the weekly obsolete report.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and warehouses, and organize transportation when required.
• Handle claims and settle debit and credit issues.
• File and record all necessary documents.
• Check critical material inventory (in person if needed) against the Shortage List, and work with warehouse personnel to correct any discrepancies.
• Handle purchasing data privacy.
• Ensure active components are supplied on time for production needs at the agreed price.
• Review requisitions and MRP output, and confer with vendors on price, availability and delivery schedules.
• Order, reschedule and cancel material based on requisitions and MRP output.
• Maintain procurement records, including items purchased, costs, deliveries, inventories, reports and metrics.
• Manage supplier performance against price, delivery and quality expectations, and escalate when appropriate.
• Approve invoices for payment, investigate inventory levels, and monitor material movement through the production cycle.
• Conduct quarterly supplier reviews.

Experience We Are Looking For

• Typically a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, English language skills, data entry, ten-key, spreadsheets, and ERP software.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence and memos, and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral or diagram instructions and handle problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
