Job Summary

Emerson is seeking an Application Engineer (Shutdown, Turnaround & Outage Specialist) to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer satisfaction by providing turnkey quote solutions for STO valve engagements. Your expertise will help create positive customer experiences, improve operational efficiency, and offer our channel partners competitive displacement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to customer STO inquiries with quotes for spare parts, replacement valves, and displacement valves, including Management of Change (MOC) support via phone, email, and chat.
• Provide datasheets, spare parts details, and competitive advantages of Emerson products as part of the MOC process.
• Support sales by highlighting key differences between current installations and new offerings.
• Develop training materials to identify competitor displacement opportunities.
• Create process automation tools to enhance speed and efficiency in STO quoting activities.
• Prepare quotes with optimal lead time estimates by assessing inventory levels in ERP systems and coordinating with operations teams.
• Meet and exceed performance metrics, including response time and on-time delivery of quote packages.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Management, or prior experience in a similar role.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Technical qualification in a mechanical field is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent written, verbal, and mathematical skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of pressure relief valves.
• Experience with SAP ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform.
