Associate Engineer - Cloud
Eaton Corporation’s Brightlayer Cloud team is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to contribute to the design and development of an Internet of Things (IoT) platform. The platform is being built from the ground up and will support Eaton product teams in developing customer-facing applications and solutions.
The role involves working with modern technologies and trends including IoT, NoSQL, big data, open source tools, DevOps, microservices, mobile technologies, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team on the architecture, design, and implementation of an IoT platform using C# and Python.
- Develop high-quality and unit-tested code.
- Create and maintain documentation using flowcharts, diagrams, comments, code snippets, and performance tools.
- Provide work estimates and participate in design discussions, implementation activities, and code reviews.
- Support agile execution with iterative and incremental delivery practices.
- Enhance technical knowledge through learning opportunities and professional resources.
- Coordinate with test teams to ensure proper test coverage, troubleshoot defects, and develop automated test scripts.
Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech degree.
- 0-2 years of experience in the software industry designing and deploying technology solutions.
- 0-2 years of experience with C# and .NET technologies.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of C# and .NET technologies with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.
- Understanding of relational and non-relational databases including SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB.
- Familiarity with software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of security concepts including encryption, certificates, and key management.
- Understanding of networking protocols including HTTP, TCP, and WebSocket.
- Awareness of software engineering best practices and Agile methodologies.
