Job Description
Job Title: Analyst / Senior Analyst
The Business Finance function oversees business level revenue attribution, financial accounting, and financial disclosures. The team ensures accurate and timely reporting of Profit and Loss (PnL) for each business unit and analyzes the drivers behind risk positions and PnL. It also ensures all transactions and positions are properly reflected in the bank's accounting records and disclosures in accordance with relevant accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely daily T+1 PnL reporting, attribution, and analysis.
- Provide daily commentary and variance analysis to Front Office traders and senior finance managers.
- Investigate and resolve breaks such as Model vs Actual ledger cash, FO/MO system discrepancies, and trade documentation issues.
- Resolve model risk control exceptions.
- Ensure adherence to risk management and control guidelines.
- Respond promptly to queries from stakeholders including Finance directors, onshore management, Front Office traders, Financial Control, and Risk teams.
- Understand trade flows and booking structures, ensuring trades are recorded correctly for accurate funding cost allocation through funds transfer pricing.
- Post product appropriate journal entries.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial statements including income statements and balance sheets.
- Perform reconciliations such as Management Accounting vs Financial Accounting, Front Office vs Back Office, and balance sheet substantiation.
- Coordinate and run stakeholder calls when required.
- Support audit and regulatory requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Experience or exposure to financial control or product control in an investment banking environment.
- Understanding of financial market instruments such as loans, bonds, credit products, derivatives, cash equity, swaps, options, and futures.
- Knowledge of fixed income products including bonds, CDS, TRS, IRS, and loans.
- Familiarity with IFRS or GAAP standards is preferred.
- Understanding of front to back investment banking processes from trade capture to balance sheet.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
- Exposure to multiple front office systems is advantageous.
Education
Preferably pursuing or qualified MBA, Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
