About the Role
Grade Level: 07
The Private Equity and Advisory Profiles Team focuses on maintaining and updating profiles of Private Equity and Venture Capital firms. The team provides research, content, and analytics on global public and private capital markets for investment banks, investment managers, and alternative investment firms.
The team also builds relationships with Private Equity firms to gather insights on investments, exits, and strategies. This work is supported by continuous monitoring of global industry publications, websites, and news aggregators to track developments in public and private investment markets.
The Impact
This role contributes to the development and accuracy of the Private Equity and Venture Capital dataset. The position involves collecting and validating data while collaborating with peers and stakeholders on process improvement initiatives.
The role provides exposure to the PE and VC ecosystem, helping build an understanding of how these firms operate while applying that knowledge to daily responsibilities.
What You Will Do
The position primarily involves the day to day collection and validation of data related to PE and VC firms. After gaining a solid understanding of the dataset and workflows, the role may include mentoring new team members and contributing to process improvement initiatives such as LEAN and automation projects that support multiple S&P Global Market Intelligence products.
There is also an opportunity to explore areas of data analysis, automation, and artificial intelligence for candidates interested in expanding their technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and extract data, then enter it into internal tools following defined guidelines.
- Develop a strong understanding of datasets, workflows, and internal work tools.
- Deliver results aligned with individual and team targets while maintaining high quality standards.
- Suggest improvements to data collection methods and product enhancements related to the dataset.
- Work on assigned projects and ensure timely completion while maintaining quality.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide support to team members when required.
- Assist the team in improving workflows and operational processes.
- Develop technical expertise within the department.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong written and verbal proficiency in Chinese.
- MBA or M.Com with a solid academic record.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate within a team while meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with secondary research sources.
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Background in finance or related fields is preferred.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Capability to conduct structured online research.
- Knowledge of databases or automation tools is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work in different shifts if required.
