Apprentice Software Developer
Dassault Systèmes is looking for a motivated Apprentice Software Developer to join the SIMULIA R&D team in Pune. The group develops and maintains tools that allow engineers to prepare and simulate complex engineering systems. The work focuses on building reliable pre‑processing solutions for geometry handling, simulation model setup, and integration with Abaqus solvers.
This apprenticeship provides hands‑on exposure to software development and engineering simulation workflows. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and developers while working with C++ in a high‑performance engineering environment.
Role Description & Responsibilities
- Support development, testing, and maintenance of FEA pre‑processor features using C++.
- Contribute to modules responsible for geometry preparation, model setup, boundary conditions, and solver integration.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and improve software usability and functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging activities, and performance optimization.
- Document development work and assist with user and developer guides.
Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Graduated in 2025 with at least 60% throughout academics in 10th, 12th, and university studies.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of C++ and object‑oriented programming concepts.
- Interest or exposure to CAD, CAE, or FEM tools such as CATIA or Abaqus is beneficial.
- Familiarity with computational geometry, mesh generation, or numerical methods is advantageous.
- Ability to learn quickly and contribute within a collaborative engineering team.
