Job Description

Purpose of the role

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems. This includes working with hardware, software, networks, and cloud technologies to ensure infrastructure remains reliable, scalable, and secure.

The role focuses on improving reliability, availability, and scalability of systems and platforms by applying software engineering practices, automation, and effective incident response processes.

Accountabilities

• Build Engineering: Design, deliver, and maintain reliable infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements. Select appropriate technologies and approaches that optimise performance, availability, and usability.
• Incident Management: Monitor infrastructure and system performance to identify and resolve issues, vulnerabilities, or outages. Use operational data to reduce mean time to resolution.
• Automation: Develop and implement automated processes that increase efficiency and minimise manual work using scripting or coding practices.
• Security: Apply secure configurations and safeguards to protect infrastructure from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorised access to hardware, software, and data.
• Teamwork: Work closely with product managers, architects, and engineers to define infrastructure needs and deliver integrated solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Learning: Keep up with emerging technology trends and contribute to internal technology communities to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
