Purpose of the Role
The position provides quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision making within the investment banking environment. The role applies quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to improve trading and investment outcomes.
Accountabilities
- Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to generate insights into market trends and support trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across financial products and markets.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to understand client requirements and create tailored solutions.
- Conduct detailed research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to understand market trends, pricing behaviour, and risk dynamics.
- Provide front office infrastructure support through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
- Offer expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological developments, and industry practices to support innovation in the trading environment.

Within the Global Markets Macro team, the Analyst will support trading desk initiatives across trading activity, sales engagement, strategy development and risk analytics. The role combines quantitative analysis, technology usage and operational execution to deliver solutions for the global Macro business.
The position involves facilitating trade booking, amendments and cancellations across products such as bonds, interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps and swaptions in line with desk conventions and controls. The analyst will design and maintain analytics and dashboards using Python and related tools to assist the sales team, including hit miss analysis, client RFQ behaviour tracking and activity insights to support data driven client targeting and strategy.
Additional responsibilities include supporting trade idea generation, providing structural and workflow support to sales and trading teams, and ensuring timely and accurate trade recap communication. The role also supports trade unwind activities and coordinates with internal teams as required.
The analyst will conduct credit line and risk checks before and after trades to ensure compliance with internal limits and counterparty requirements. The role also coordinates Independent Amount requests, manages client communication and documentation, and assists with PV validation and pricing checks by working closely with sales, trading, structuring, strategy and valuation teams to resolve discrepancies.
