About the Role
The Financial Modeling Group delivers specialized support for advanced analytical tools, helping customers get the most value from our products. The team focuses on onboarding and customer adoption for Excel add-ins, Office Tools products, screening capabilities, platform customization, and proprietary datasets.
As part of this global team, you will work closely with clients to understand their workflow requirements and recommend solutions using S&P Capital IQ and related tools. Application Associates develop expertise in financial modeling and data integration while supporting customers with tailored solutions.
In this role, you will consult with clients on Excel add-in solutions such as CIQ and CIQ Pro and assist them in implementing data within financial models. These models can include valuation, ownership structures, estimates, charts, and other analytical frameworks. The role also involves creating or converting financial models from other platforms and maintaining a large library of pre-built templates used by clients.
Impact
The Financial Modeling Group serves as a primary interaction point for customers. You will regularly create models, screens, and presentations while addressing client questions and demonstrating product capabilities. The role also involves working with internal teams including Commercial, Product, and Customer Services to improve solutions and support client success.
Responsibilities
- Understand client-specific requirements across various datasets and products.
- Collaborate with clients across global regions including the USA, EMEA, and APAC.
- Create quantitative models, screening tools, and presentations using company products.
- Support customers in research activities through calls, emails, and meetings.
- Work with product teams to test new features and improve user experience.
- Provide suggestions to enhance product usability, presentation, and data quality.
- Participate in projects that deepen subject matter expertise with product specialists.
- Contribute to team initiatives and knowledge sharing activities.
- Identify opportunities for automation and workflow efficiency improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of business fundamentals, financial statements, and investments.
- Knowledge of capital and commodity markets.
- Experience with research and analytical work.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of VBA is an added advantage.
