About the Role
Amazon is seeking passionate and skilled individuals for the role of Applied Scientist Intern. This internship offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision projects that solve real-world problems at massive scale. You will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced, and cross-disciplinary research team at the forefront of innovation.
As an Applied Scientist Intern, you will:
- Develop data-driven algorithms and models for Amazon's customer-facing products
- Apply statistical modeling and machine learning to real-world industrial scenarios
- Collaborate with top-tier scientists, engineers, and product managers
- Prototype, test, and potentially deliver your solutions to production
- Engage in original research or implement practical solutions based on existing knowledge
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test models using large-scale datasets
- Innovate solutions for problems not yet solved at scale
- Leverage state-of-the-art ML and AI tools
- Communicate technical findings effectively across teams
- Maintain a strong attention to deadlines and quality of work
Internship Requirements
- Internship Duration: Full-time
- Availability: Must commit full-time during the internship duration without conflicts from academic courses, exams, or other commitments
- University Declaration: A signed declaration from a university authority ensuring full availability is mandatory
- Note: Exam-related absence must be pre-communicated with the reporting manager
Eligibility
- Must be 18 years or older at the time of application
- Must be currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Eligible Batches: 2025, 2024, 2023
Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, C/C++, or Perl
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience in one or more of the following:
- Machine Learning
- Deep Learning
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Computer Vision
- Data Science
- Publications or presentations at top-tier ML/AI conferences such as:
- ICML
- NeurIPS
- CVPR
- ICASSP
- KDD

Additional Information
