Duration

About 6 weeks: pitch-deck and code submission, online leaderboard evaluation, then a 2-day in-person grand finale

Eligibility

Engineering students (B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech) in the second, third or fourth year; teams of 2 to 5 from the same institution (2025 edition).

HackRx is the yearly hackathon of the Bajaj Finserv Group for engineering students across India. Teams solve real problem statements from Bajaj Finserv companies, the best ones present at an in-person grand finale, and top performers can be considered for internships or full-time roles in the group. The 2025 edition, HackRx 6.0, was run by Bajaj Finserv Health.

Status on 30 October 2026: no 2026 edition has been announced. The official site hackrx.in said "HackRx 7.0 Coming Soon" in December 2025, but no registration has opened since, and the domain now redirects to an unrelated website, so don't enter details there. Past editions opened in June (2022 and 2023) or July (2025), which is the window to watch if HackRx returns. We'll update this page when Bajaj Finserv announces the next edition.

  • Teams had 2 to 5 members. All members had to be from one institution, but could be from different years or branches.
  • HackRx 4.0 (2023) also required at least one female member in every team. The 2025 rules didn't repeat this.
  • Registration was free on both the 2023 and 2025 listings.

Rounds and format

Registration and pitch deck10 July to 8 August 2025: register on Unstop, then submit a pitch deck on the official template plus code

Grand finale22 to 23 August 2025: shortlisted teams present working solutions to a jury

The 2025 problem was a single generative AI task: build an LLM-powered system that answers natural-language questions from long documents such as insurance policies, contracts and emails. Judges looked at the uniqueness of the solution, technical implementation, scalability, user experience, impact and presentation. Pitch decks that don't follow the template are treated as invalid. Earlier editions offered a list of problem statements instead; HackRx 3.0 in 2022 had ten, from in-app nudges to credit scoring from phone data.

Bajaj Finserv advertises the prize pool as "worth ₹10 lakh", but that figure includes goodies and other rewards; the cash prizes add up to ₹2.35 lakh in 2025. On careers, the 2025 listing says top performers "may be considered" for internship or full-time roles with the organising or partner companies. In 2023, Bajaj Finserv said winning teams could join BYTE (Bajaj Young Tech Engineers), its campus hiring programme for engineers. It doesn't publish how many offers are made or the salary.

How to apply when it returns

  1. Follow Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finserv Health on LinkedIn, and check Unstop for a "HackRx 7.0" listing posted by Bajaj Finserv. Don't use hackrx.in until it points back to a Bajaj Finserv page.
  2. Form a team of 2 to 5 from your own college. Add a female member if the rules ask for one, as they did in 2023.
  3. Register on Unstop before the deadline, attend the deep-dive webinar, and download the official pitch deck template.
  4. Submit the pitch deck and code through the portal login you get by email, then keep improving your leaderboard score until the evaluation closes.

What changed over the years

  • Registrations on Unstop more than doubled, from 21,769 in 2023 to 46,170 in 2025.
  • The format moved from a list of business problems (ten in 2022) to one generative AI problem with a live leaderboard in 2025.
  • Eligibility widened from B.E./B.Tech students in 2023 to include M.Tech students in 2025, and the female-member rule no longer appears in the 2025 listing.
  • The finale moved from Pune (2022 to 2024) to Bengaluru in 2025.
