About the NATS Apprenticeship Program

The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) allows Volvo India to engage newly graduated candidates in a structured one year apprenticeship. The program provides hands on learning and practical exposure across different business functions while helping graduates build industry relevant skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure segment strategies are implemented through appropriate supplier selection and by maintaining supplier performance using QDCFTSR metrics and purchasing tools.
• Drive sourcing activities from RFI stage through SSA approval within specific industrial investment segments.
• Confirm supplier selection aligns with the segment business plan and project QDCF criteria.
• Make sure updated supplier agreements are finalized before SSA proposals.
• Carry out portfolio activities such as negotiations, project implementation, and risk or crisis management.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and coordinate with cross functional teams during sourcing and implementation.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives including value analysis, value engineering, and logistics optimization with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Participate in developing global and regional segment business plans.
• Ensure sourcing outcomes are secured contractually with approved and signed agreements.
• Maintain valid agreements with suppliers in production and extend contracts before expiry.
• Negotiate and report any changes after contract or purchase order signatures while ensuring project targets are met.
• Confirm suppliers follow Volvo procedures, standards, and expectations.
• Update supplier classifications and manage payment or currency terms according to group policies.
• Track and deliver KPI targets related to supplier performance and commercial outcomes.
• Act as a supplier host while supporting regional and local stakeholder networks.
• Handle PR to PO processing including requirement understanding, supplier negotiations, and stakeholder alignment.
• Conduct project, business, and operational review meetings with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Forecast cost trends for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Support vendor onboarding activities including due diligence and supplier evaluation.
• Drive improvements such as catalog management, automation, and digital transformation initiatives including new technologies, sustainability, and business models.
