About the NATS Program

This role is offered under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), a flagship initiative of the Government of India that builds practical, trade-specific skills for Indian youth. It runs under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (amended in 1973). Through Volvo Group, engineering graduates and diploma holders get a structured one-year, hands-on On-the-Job Training (OJT) program to build industry-ready skills.

What you will do

• Build a basic understanding of RULA, REBA, OWAS and NIOSH lifting equations.
• Carry out ergonomic risk assessments on production and assembly workstations using the Volvo Ergonomics Standard method.
• Develop ergonomic improvement concepts and help put them into practice on the shop floor.
• Support value-added and non-value-added activity studies on production lines, including time studies and spaghetti charts for motion study.
• Prepare and regularly validate standard operating procedures, one point lessons, and additional or temporary instructions.
• Help resolve process and quality issues with temporary and permanent actions.
• Update layout modifications in AutoCAD and prepare local tooling drawings.
• Support documentation and data analysis.
