The Opportunity
UST is looking for a Validation Technician to join its semiconductor product validation work.
Responsibilities
- Learn to install and configure Microsoft operating systems.
- Identify the test cases to execute from the available set provided.
- Build a basic understanding of platform hardware and software components for post-silicon and pre-silicon validation, including benchmark tools, stress and stability testing, and power management.
- Reproduce failures reported in required platform configurations and manage defects.
- Apply basic knowledge of system BIOS, UEFI framework and architecture, USB, multimedia, drivers, camera, disk, desktop, power management, Type-C, and silicon technologies.
- Analyze system power states and device states, and understand and analyze test strategies.
- Work as per the client schedule, with flexible work location and timing.
- Work with systems mounted on racks.
- Understand the features of various Windows products and execute test cases.
- Attend standup meetings and understand requirements before testing.
- Analyze and debug issues with strong problem-solving skills.
- Communicate well and work with different teams.
- Assemble computer systems and clearly articulate and isolate issues seen during test execution.
