Job Description
The EU Transportation team ensures that packages reach customers on time across the EU at the best speed and cost. This is achieved by building relationships with logistics providers and working with internal teams to create and manage a resilient, scalable network.
A Trans Ops Specialist facilitates the flow of information between different stakeholders (Trans Carriers, Hubs, Warehouses) and resolves issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. The role involves timely issue resolution by researching internal tools, analyzing data, and making real-time decisions.
An ideal candidate should understand requirements, analyze data to notice trends, and drive customer experience without compromising on time. Basic understanding of logistics and clear written and oral communication are essential. The specialist should also be able to ideate process improvements and drive them to conclusion.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors, Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers).
- Pull data from databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Develop and understand performance metrics to assist in driving business results.
- Scope business and functional requirements for Amazon technology teams that create and enhance software systems and tools used by ROC.
- Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Systematically escalate problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and teams, and follow through on resolutions.
- Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including creating narratives outlining weekly findings and variances to goals, and presenting them in review forums.
- Provide real-time customer experience in a 24/7 operating environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
- Experience with Excel.
- Experience with SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English.
