About the Role
The Transportation Operation Center (TOC) at Amazon serves as the central hub for managing transportation execution across multiple regions, including North America, India, and Europe. This team ensures the timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers and from fulfillment centers to carrier hubs. In case of exceptions, TOC specialists step in to resolve issues and keep all stakeholders informed, while also analyzing trends and proposing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Position Overview
As a Transportation Representative, you will facilitate communication between carriers, vendors, warehouses, and internal Amazon teams. You will address potential issues in both inbound and outbound operations, ensuring freight is picked up and delivered on schedule. This role requires quick decision-making, data analysis, and a strong understanding of logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with external partners (carriers, vendors) and internal teams (retail, finance, software support, fulfillment centers).
- Extract and analyze data from various databases using Excel, Access, SQL, and other tools.
- Develop and interpret performance metrics to drive business results.
- Collaborate with technology teams to define business and functional requirements for system enhancements.
- Identify trends, assess business impacts, and make informed decisions based on available data.
- Escalate issues systematically and follow through to resolution.
- Work within strict time constraints to meet critical business needs.
- Prepare and present weekly findings and performance reports.
- Operate effectively in a 24x7 work environment to maintain real-time customer experience.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience interacting with multiple stakeholders, including executives and cross-functional teams.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-performance environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, fulfillment, or distribution center operations.
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL for data analysis.
