About the Role
Swiss Re is seeking a Data Analyst to join its global team in Bangalore. In this role, you will support the reporting and analytics backbone for the P&C Finance team, working with modern data technologies to enable better business decisions.
You will collaborate with stakeholders across regions to convert complex datasets into meaningful reporting solutions. The role focuses on transforming raw data into clear insights that help guide financial and operational strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build reliable data pipelines in Palantir Foundry while working with large datasets and Foundry Ontology models.
- Develop transformation logic using PySpark and Apache-based technologies to enrich and align data from multiple source systems into structured data models.
- Manage end-to-end data initiatives including ingestion, transformation, solution development, and deployment of advanced AI or ML models.
- Support enterprise-grade data pipelines and AI applications while contributing to best practices for AI governance, responsible AI use, and scalable solutions.
- Maintain and improve reporting platforms, especially Power BI, by updating datasets, adjusting visuals, and fixing DAX logic when needed.
- Create new dashboards and reporting tools that clearly visualize financial and operational data.
- Automate manual workflows using efficient data flows, reusable queries, and improved transformation logic.
- Investigate reporting issues and take ownership of identifying root causes and implementing effective fixes.
About the Team
You will be part of a global P&C Finance team that acts as the analytical foundation of the organization. The team collaborates across regions to turn complex financial data into actionable insights that support strategic decision making and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
The role suits someone who enjoys working with data and is comfortable moving between raw datasets and dashboard development. Curiosity, accountability, and the ability to learn quickly are important for success in this position.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Python, along with tools such as Advanced Excel, Power Query, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with DAX logic or interest in learning how to structure metrics and KPIs.
- Experience working with large or unstructured datasets and preparing them for analysis and reporting.
- Ability to interact with business users and explain technical logic clearly.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing user-defined functions (UDFs) in PySpark for reusable transformation logic.
- Structured coding practices such as organizing logic, documenting code, and handling edge cases.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for data pipelines or BI tools.
- Experience with Palantir Foundry or working with financial datasets.
- Experience integrating data from multiple systems to build useful analytical solutions.
This role follows a hybrid work model with an expectation to work from the office at least three days each week.
