About the Role
Grade Level: 09
The Data Catalog - Metadata Management team within the Enterprise Data Organization focuses on improving the usability and accessibility of enterprise data assets. The team organizes and categorizes data, maintains accurate metadata, and improves discoverability and machine readability. Team members collaborate closely to deliver impactful data management solutions while continuing to develop their skills in a global environment.
Responsibilities and Impact
- Support the organization and categorization of data assets within the enterprise data catalog.
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing the data catalog, defining its capabilities and aligning them with data governance objectives.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of metadata across catalog entries.
- Improve data discoverability and machine readability to enhance usability.
- Work with data scientists, business stewards, and technical data stewards to meet integration requirements.
- Partner with cross functional teams to maintain and enhance catalog standards.
- Help develop and implement policies and procedures related to data catalog management.
- Participate in training initiatives to educate stakeholders on catalog functionality and best practices.
Basic Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Data Management, Knowledge Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Understanding of graph databases and working knowledge of SQL and SPARQL.
- Familiarity with data management practices and metadata standards.
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using data catalog tools or related platforms.
- Exposure to data governance and data stewardship practices.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts related to metadata management.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
