About the Role
Cisco is seeking talented individuals for the position of Software Engineer - Internal Applications. This posting is intended to gather applications for potential future openings. Selected candidates may be contacted when a relevant position becomes available.
Your Impact
- Assist in designing, developing, testing, and improving internal business applications and platforms.
- Build tools and automation to enhance software reliability and performance.
- Work across the development stack with various programming languages, modern cloud and container platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems.
- Apply engineering, mathematics, and computer science principles to develop applications.
- Automate deployments and operational workflows to ensure continuous availability.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize applications in both data center and cloud environments.
- Implement secure, test-driven development practices with continuous integration and delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address evolving requirements and system improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, GoLang, or C/C++.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and exposure to web technologies or database concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building small-scale applications, automation scripts, or contributing to open-source projects.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Collaborative mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
