About the Role

This six month internship is designed to provide operational support to the Planning and Reporting team within the Digital Functions organization. The role focuses on assisting with recurring reporting activities and supporting the maintenance of several Power BI reports used across the business. The objective is to help the existing team manage routine reporting tasks while enabling them to focus on more complex requirements.

The intern will primarily work on executing existing reporting cycles and assisting with small report enhancements based on business needs. This role suits a student who has a basic understanding of Power BI and data concepts and wants to apply those skills in a corporate finance and controlling environment.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Report Execution and Maintenance (Approximately 60%)

  • Execute scheduled monthly refresh and distribution of multiple Power BI reports.
  • Monitor data refresh processes and identify basic issues that could affect report availability or accuracy.
  • Perform routine data validation and quality checks for financial and operational reporting data.
  • Maintain documentation related to report execution procedures and reporting schedules.

Reporting Enhancement and Support (Approximately 40%)

  • Assist in collecting and documenting minor change requests for existing Power BI reports from stakeholders.
  • Implement simple report updates such as adjusting visuals, modifying filters, or creating basic DAX measures under supervision.
  • Support senior team members in testing and deploying report updates and enhancements.
  • Help end users with basic questions related to report navigation and functionality.
  • Assist with the setup and operational activities of the S4E Integration Test Cycle within Siemens Energy's major business transformation program.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Academic or project exposure to Power BI is considered an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of Power BI and core data concepts.
  • Understanding of data visualization practices and reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
  • Knowledge of reporting concepts and data validation processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
