Responsibilities
As an Entry-Level UX Specialist, you will work under the mentorship of senior UX designers and product managers to:
- Support User Research: Assist in planning and conducting user research activities, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and contextual inquiries. Help synthesize findings and translate them into actionable insights.
- Contribute to Design Artifacts: Develop and iterate on low-fidelity wireframes, user flows, site maps, and basic prototypes to visualize design concepts.
- Assist with Design System Maintenance: Support the application and evolution of our design system, ensuring consistency and adherence to established UX/UI patterns across foundational technologies.
- Document UX Specifications: Help document user requirements, design specifications, and interaction patterns for development teams.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with senior UX designers, product managers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver user-centered solutions.
- Participate in Design Reviews: Actively participate in design critiques and feedback sessions, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Learn and Grow: Stay up to date with the latest UX trends, tools, and methodologies, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Conduct Competitive Analysis: Assist in analyzing competitor products and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of professional experience in UX design (internships, academic projects, and personal projects are highly valued).
- Basic understanding of user-centered design principles, usability heuristics, and accessibility guidelines.
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure RP, or similar.
- A portfolio demonstrating academic or personal UX projects, showcasing your design process and problem-solving skills (even if simple or student-level).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas clearly.
- Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in designing for sophisticated enterprise software, industrial applications, or technical platforms.
- Basic understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
