Overview

The Securities and Derivatives Analyst 1 is an entry level role responsible for handling orders and transactions received from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations Transaction Services team. The primary objective is to support the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Verify trades to ensure booking requests are accurate.
  • Create and reconcile trade confirmations in line with International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) templates.
  • Complete settlement activities and daily rate revaluations accurately and within timelines.
  • Coordinate transaction processing issues with relevant departments and work toward resolution.
  • Carry out regulatory controls, account reconciliations, and record retention tasks according to established policies.
  • Prepare and submit internal and external regulatory reports on a periodic basis.
  • Participate in General Ledger (GL) proofing exercises as assigned.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions while safeguarding the firm's reputation and client assets, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies, and escalating control issues when required.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a related area is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Treasury products, accounting principles, and regulatory policies.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities or projects in a high risk environment.
  • Working knowledge of macros.
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
